Sterilization Protocol – Salem, OR

Keeping Our Patients Safe & Healthy

At Cochell Family Dentistry, the safety of our patients has always been our number one concern. We are more committed to keeping our patients healthy than ever, and we will continue to monitor the Coronavirus situation daily. To prevent exposure to the virus, we have updated our infection control policies, systems, and procedures in place. We continue to stay current on the ever evolving guidelines of the American Dental Association (ADA), Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for dental offices during these times.

Sterilization Procedures

Our patients should take comfort in knowing that we have always strictly adhered to the CDC’s infection control standards! Our infection control procedures are based on requirements established by the CDC for ultimate safety. The surfaces of our dental office are always strictly sterilized, and we clean and disinfect all operatory areas between patients and after each use. All of our dental instruments are cleaned and heat sterilized in a special steam machine with individual sterilization pouches. These procedures allow us to provide our patients with the dental care they need without compromising their health.

Common Area Disinfecting

In addition to our already thorough regular sterilization, we have taken extra steps to prevent the spread of COVID-19. All magazines, pamphlets, and other reading materials have been removed from the dental office, and the lobby area, restroom, and all other hard surfaces are wiped down between patients. We use Cavicide, which is a CDC-approved commercial sterilization agent. Plus, we have hand sanitizer available in our lobby and throughout our dental office. These precautions make it possible for us to provide the dental care you need during this time.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact our dental office!
